About Me

IMG_3642Hello there my lovelies!

Ok, about me…. Well, I’m a very busy mum of two very creative boys. In May 2012, I followed my dreams and moved to live in beautiful North Cornwall.

Since childhood, this part of the country has been a huge source of inspiration for me. The stunning coastline, the wildlife, the colourful boats, beautiful beaches and fresh sea air.… and that only just touches on it…. this place simply makes me feel alive!

Mum and Dad would often take me visiting the Art Galleries in St Ives and Mousehole. Along with my Mum, I would always have a sketch book or two on the go. They both encouraged and supported my creative side, for which, I will always be incredibly grateful and thankful.

I have always had a passion for colour, patterns and textiles. Creating/designing/making pretty things has always/will always be a way of life for me! My Dad reminded me recently that from a very early age, all I ever wanted for Christmas was a pack of coloured pens.

Music is also a very important part of my life. I have a wide, varied taste and love to get out and see live music whenever I can. There are always melodies and beats ringing through my studio, helping my creative juices to flow!

DSC00566I take full advantage of living on the coast and visit the beach almost daily to search for beach treasures such as driftwood, shells and colourful pieces of washed up glass/plastic to use in some of my creations…. or to just breath in the sea air and recharge.

I also have a slight obsession for vintage. If I’m not sewing, on the beach or cooking for my boys, you’ll find me hunting around local charity shops searching for vintage fabrics. Another obsession is photography. I have my camera with me at all times and I like to take photos of everything! (See Gallery at bottom of page)

After finishing A Level Art and completing my favourite course to date (B.Tec Surface Pattern Design), I went on to graduate in 1999 from Nottingham Trent University with a B.A Hons in Textile Design.

My art has branched out in many directions over the years, including hand painting Dr Martin Boots in Paris and Marseille, Knitwear Fashion, painting and mural work, working alongside my husband with his graffiti wall art and my most recent new project, Tattooing!
